Frequently Asked Questions

Question

What are the support changes for password/login requests as of February, 2014?
Answer  Click here to see support changes effective February 3, 2014.

Question

How are MDS files stored once they are transmitted to Pro-Tracking?
Answer  MDS files are stored on a secure server not accessible to anyone but developers and support staff who have authorization to access the data to produce your reports.

Question

How long does Pro-Tracking keep MDS records it receives?
Answer  Unless a record needs to be removed due to a correction or other exception, the records remain in the database. Once a week, we purge assessments for inactive residents that are older than 1020 days. If a resident has never been inactive, we will have all assessments we received for the resident. If a resident was temporarily inactive/discharged on a purge day, then assessments older than 1020 days on that day would have been purged.

Question

What information do we as users have access to? Can we view a full assessment? Who can view it?
Answer  Subscribers cannot view a full assessment in Pro-Tracking. However, many parts of the MDS are viewable in reports some of which feature whole sections. As stated before the only persons who can view the entire assessment are authorized developers and support staff.

Question

What is Pro-Tracking, and how can it help me?
Answer  Pro-Tracking is a facility management program for quality, regulatory compliance and reimbursement improvement. The purpose of using our system of reports and online worksheets, as well as publications and tutorials, is to help nursing facilities and health care professionals to be in compliance with State regulations and provide optimum care to residents.

Question

Can I use data from past MDS's in Pro-Tracking, or am I limited to using only those MDS's which are created after becoming a member?
Answer  You are not limited to current MDS data. You can use old MDS files which you have submitted to the State to create a history record with Pro-Tracking. Simply submit these files to us after becoming a member, and you'll soon have access to a variety of reports after a brief processing period.

Question

Will my reports be sent to me?
Answer  Except under extreme circumstances no reports are actually mailed to you. However, your reports are available to you at any time through the Connections Performance Measurement (www.pro-tracking.com) website. After logging in to our secure website, you are given access to all reports available to your facility.

Question

Some of my reports don't seem to be current. How often do my reports get updated?
Answer  Depending on the number of facilities submitting files during a given time period, your facility reports will be updated in a little as 10-15 minutes or as long as 24 hours if a large amount of data has been received.

Question

How can I tell if my MDS upload was successful?
Answer  A successful MDS upload will result in a verification box which will display the name of the file, size of the file, and the date the upload was received. We recommend that the verification box be printed for your records. Also, you can check the Batch Status Reports to see detailed information of uploaded files.
